English activity for bilingual children

 

AngloKidoo Club

  • My child speaks fluent English

The AngloKidoo Club is specifically for  English Speaking children aged 5-8 years where children enjoy different activities such as : Drama, arts and crafts, games, creative writing, reading, scrapbooking, textiles, pottery, phonics, cooking lessons and healthy eating,  music and much more.

WEDNESDAYS 14h30-16h ... 15 eur/session*

We travel the world virtually and discover different countries, cultures and customs in geography based activites and have links with teachers in schools in Anglophone countries so that we can put a pen pal scheme into place.

 

We amaze and inspire each other with fun science and nature activities.

 

We cover themes covered in the National curriculam for the Cours Primaire classes eg Prehistoric man, China,  Egyptians, as well as culturally important traditions for Anglophones such as Thanksgiving, Christmas Carols and Hot Cross Buns

 

While we are having all this fun we are of course building on and developing essential linguistic capabilities as the activities are specifically designed to work on the most important and necessary skills for children of this age including key communicative skills, creative and social skills. We are keen to improve on pronunciation with fun phonics and reading and spelling skills.

 

The AngloKidoo Club is also an ideal way to meet other bilingual  children, as for parents to join a network where they can share their experiences.

 

The essential skills acquired in our funtastic club are taught by experienced Anglophones in small classes and in our bright and comfortable environment.

 

 

As a member, you will be able to borrow English children’s books and dvd from our vast range to practice the essential skills saving you money.

KidooKids- Maternelle -  3-6 years

 

Abstract thinking begins! Feelings, ideas and expressions flow fast and this is the moment to tap into imaginative play.

 

Your child will be starting to create stories that make logical sense. Their imaginations are so developed at this point that they can substitute symbols for real objects.

 

They enjoy make-believe play, such as using a spoon to "feed" a stuffed bear. Blocks that previously were simply for stacking now can be arranged to become a house for their toy animals.

The older pre schooler starts to explore group activities.

 

Refining motor skills that are vital to thinking, language, communication and social skills.

This is also when your baby becomesindependant, dressing and feeding herself.

Their new cognitive ability to categorize and sort helps them understand the similarities and differences between people, which makes this a great time to help them learn about respecting differences and getting along.

KidooGrands - Primary levels - Age 6-9 years

 

The best way to promote your child's healthy development at this age is to encourage lots of exploration, stimulating your child's thinking about objects, people, and how the world works.

To help your child become a thoughtful person and a life-long learner, ask loads of questions and be ready to answer them as well!

 

To answer children's questions in a way they can understand, first ask what they think the answer might be. That gives you insight into their level of understanding so you can tailor your answers appropriately.
