KidooLand Christmas Fair 02/12/2018: Cancer Research UK

KidooLand will be holding an inaugural Christmas Fair on Sunday 2nd December from 10h30 to 15h30!

KidooLand's traditional English Christmas Fair, will be full of activities for children, plenty of stands selling lots of different Christmas gifts and a variety of Christmas decorations. We also hope to be able to draw on the best of French Christmas culture by offering vin chaud for Mums and Dads and crepes for hungry tummies of any age!

Over the next 2-3 weeks, in the run up to our inaugural Christmas Fair, we'll be introducing you to our various partners. Next up is is Jenny Priestley who will be selling Christmas Cards for Cancer Research UK.

Cancer Research UK

Thank you so much to the generosity of Kidooland, and our links with Mimosa, for allowing us to sell Cancer Research UK Christmas cards. Whilst Mimosa raise funds for organisations who support people dealing with cancer here in the south of France, Cancer Research UK is the largest charitable funder of cancer research in the world. From discovery research through to clinical trials, we work tirelessly to prevent, control and cure over 200 types of cancer. As well as scientific research, we work with governments, health professionals, and patients to improve outcomes for cancer patients across the globe.

Our strategy is built on the principles of people, partnership, and collaboration, and the impact of our work reaches far beyond the UK. No single organisation or country is going to beat cancer on its own. And that’s why we are committed to working with organisations across the world to achieve our ambitious vision of bringing forward the day when all cancers are cured.

Our local fundraising team organise a number of events, which include an annual bridge event, selling Christmas cards and for a number of years we have organised a 5K Race for Life. All the cards on sale are provided by Cancer Research UK. There are a variety of designs, they come in packs of 10 and are fantastic value for money. 100% of the money raised goes directly to Cancer Research UK.

As mentioned above, this year, we will be using the KidooLand Christmas Fair to support the Mimosa charity. Mimosa was set up as a “kitchen-table charity” on the Riviera three years ago by a team of nine women who have all seen Cancer close up and who share the desire to help make a difference.
